Director Jerry Orr of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport deserves a hearty round of applause for this one. With enough gentle persuasion and positive reinforcement, maybe he'll even go through with it! There's a poll attached to the article too.

As mentioned in other threads, as long as the TSA has oversight responsibility of private companies, the overall situation won't change much because the exact same procedures and equipment will still be used. The only viable solution is total elimination of the TSA. The director of Logan International confirmed my concern about the "opt out" provision recently in a private conversation.
