You can always plan your flights around which airports have the scanners and which don't. There are very few places where it is horribly inconvenient to steer clear of them.

posting from my phone but i wanted to let you guys know everything went well. Got a few looks from the tsa. The tsa agent said 'can some people come over to this line' (the body scanners) so i directed my family to the other line. I'll post again when i get home
