This must be coming from an AP story or something because I'm listening to the radio and heard ABC News mention that Ron was third on the poll.

Pretty sweet.

Yeah, I want him first in everything too but it's progress - at least he's being mentioned frequently now and is being taken seriously. The trajectory is good - especially when you remember that over 70% of the population doesn't even know who the guy is.

If Ron had come in first, do you think they would have said anything about the online poll? I don't.

Oh, and any references to Romney "spamming" the poll? I didn't so. Grrrrr. I hate double standards.

~~~~~~~~~
So, of those who actually were there, 51% voted for Mike Huckabee, five times as much as any other candidate.
I guess this is news because it is the first online poll that Ron Paul has not completely dominated. If Ron Paul had won 80% of the vote it would never have been reported. I am convinced of that.
Duncan kinda deserves to pimp out his son's service. He's the only candidate with a kid in Iraq.
Yeah, and the public will rightfully eat it up too.
The problem is that there is far more to being a good politician than having a son in Iraq for whatever reason we are there.
Why sir is it conceivably enduring that someone is willing to put themselves in danger. Duncan's son is not protecting our liberty, rights or freedoms of any American and he is definitely not protecting this country. Quite the contrary, we are sitting ducks and we are seen as occupiers not liberators. U.S. occupation is simply feeding the growing animosity to our country. Bring them home, now!
But shouldn't we respect one's service regardless of how wrong the reasons for being Iraq actually are?
I'm sort of surprised that Paul didn't dominate this thing, although I agree w/posters that if he had gotten his usual 70/80 percent, the story might not have been covered.
I don't get it!
How did we loose?!?!
http://www.frcaction.org/ (by only 730 votes for first, we even lost to huckabee for f**ck sake)
We preached over and over that just the people on this forum could easily throw that vote. I wouldn't of wasted a dollar if I had known everyone else would have pussed out. I'm sorry, as much as I love all rp supporters, I'm going to have to give the middle finger right now to those two-three people who flooded every thread on this straw poll with rhetoric on why people shouldn't vote in it. Dr. Paul could of been the media talk of the day if it wasn't for those jerks' need to push their apathy on others.
Sorry I'm kinda pissed about this. WE SHOULD HAVE WON!
Hmmm....According to the FRC website, less than half of the 2000 people in attendance voted.
Wonder why that is?
You know, Paul NOT coming in first may actually help him, because that way the results aren't automatically dismissed as spam.
Bill Scheider: "Thompson losing out to Ron Paul is an embarrassment..."
you know what i find very telling and disheartening, is that the ONLY candidate that doesn't dance to special interests, a man of principle, a man who wants to do what is best for America and just pretty much a man of integrity.... and public figures see him as embarassement - and men who are flipfloppers, lack integrity and are shills for special interests are viewed as viable leaders... it is beyond me how far we come to a brainless voting public.
AMEN!!
This country doesn't need to find any "phantom" enemies...they just got to look in the mirror (if they could break themselves free from their trance).....really sucks to be in the same sinking ship with morons.
Combat or non-combat, the kid is in Iraq. We should honor his service, even if the war is under false pretenses.
