CBS:81% American Public Love Naked Body Scanners & MSNBC Interview With TSA Head John Pistole

This CBS poll is unbelievable, only %15 Of the American Public is against the naked body scanners? Are you kidding me? LMAO
This interview was a joke, Mr.Pistole was not properly challenged here.
His Answer to the Johns Hopkins report was laughable.
Also would like to note, his answer to the naked images not being stored was total bull.
He said all the machines are shipped out with the image saver option turned off.Ok so lets say you actually believe that, why would they be sent out with that option in the first place?
Look yes there needs to be security but not at the risk of being treated as a slave.Yes i know the argument, "You dont have to fly" but in order to get across the ocean you pretty much do, and it is a government agency performing these outrageous procedures not a private company.
If you would rather live as a slave and give up your liberties for the fantasy of total security then you deserve what you have coming to you

bullshit! I have not talked to ONE person who approves of the porno scanners (heh thanks Matt for that phrase).

I don't want to be exposed to that radiation, and I damned sure don't want that picture saved for whatever purposes the gubment can think of. I don't want to be groped either.

I just don't care to fly. I will drive and retain my 4th amendment. FUCK TSA, and FUCK CBS!

LOL, saw that one as well. It is working guys. We need to keep the pressure up and make sure this issue DOES NOT GO AWAY. I know the liberty movement runs into brick walls with most of its issues, but we can win against Porno Scanners and Crotch Graps.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me that 80 percent are in favor of this shit.

Fuck them, I say, I'm fair sick and tired of trying to "convince" these assholes about freedom.

They are about to get swept away on a wave of history, that, as is always the case in human affairs, will be driven by a tireless minority of agitators unwilling to go along to get along and be silent and prefer safety to liberty.

I don't believe it. I don't know a singly individual who supports this crap, Republican, Democrat, young, old, male, female, black, white, Christian, or non-believer.

For the umpteenth time, this is why they call it an infowar. TPTB object to the peons objecting, so by golly, let's rig up some surveys that suggest the exact opposite of where public opinion is at on the matter. Wouldn't surprise me if the charging of the billionaire today for allegedly working with terrorists was an attempt to change the TSA subject dominating the news cycle.

Yep. Here is what I thought they were getting at:

80% of Americans believe Naked Body Scanners help increase security. *

*It should be noted that the sample for this survey consisted of 463 TSA workers and personnel.

From CBS news:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/17/national/main7063414.shtml

What do you think about about the new invasive airport security screenings and all the hoopla surrounding them?

Stop complaining! The new measures are necessary to guarantee security.

7%
They may go too far, but are okay so long as people are given the option to opt out.

Enough with the scans and pat-downs! They're an invasion of civil liberties.

I believe it. The people who support or it (or more likely: don't care) aren't likely to be talking about it. So it seems higher than it is.

Outside these boards I haven't heard much outrage over it. Not like eight months ago when Conan O'Brien was fired from NBC and every asshole I know was taking to Facebook and Twitter to whine about it.

I have talked to people about it. The only person who was moderately okay with it also happens to be ex-CIA, so go figure.

First, you assume a CBS poll is legit? And you'll believe the CBS poll without knowing the question asked and the audience sampled, until you hear another "legit" poll? lol.

Additionally, the other new stations jumped on the poll results and spewed them out without verifying them or qualifing them, so we have to wait for others to do a poll. Thankfully, Hollywood just posted one showing the exact opposite.

You’ve heard TSA say how most passengers support the use of our Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT). Well, this time you don’t have to hear it from us. You can read a recent public poll that was conducted by CBS News where 4 in 5 polled support TSA’s use of AIT.

Poll: 4 in 5 Support Full-Body Airport Scanners

Why aren't you commenting on John Tyner? This blog has official lost any shred of legitimacy it had. Also, this comment will most likely be censored.

You can't be serous! So many people are outraged and angry about what they've had to experience and what they've read about... and yet the T.S.A. puts this up on its official blog instead of addressing the issues?

I think this proves that this blog is nothing more than propaganda.

And, btw, all this shows is that 4 out of 5 people are a little behind the other 20% in understanding the egregious abuses that are taking place at TSA.

This poll is absolute fantasy. You don't have to be a statistician to look at the data in this poll and see it's bunk. Why not ask people if they approve of naked scans+radiation or Government approved sexual assault? Because that's your choice.

Opt Out America. Push back while we still can.

Nice try. You aren't going to convince us to forget our rational fears, just because you wave the herd mentality under our nose.

4/5 Americans are idiots.

You do realize that you can get a poll to say anything right? I mean honestly, this is little more reassuring than saying, "Trust us, we are the government."

Gee, it's too bad we don't have some sort of document that clearly establishes that we have rights that the state may not violate despite popular opinion...

Also, the wording of the poll was so vague as to render it meaningless. I think you'd find a large majority of Americans would support invading Canada if you asked them "Do you support the full utilization of American military resources to secure the territories to our north?"

And how many of those people have been on an airplane in the past ten years, and seen their rights as passengers gradually erode? It roughly corresponds with the share of Americans who don't have passports. I don't think that's a coincidence.

And as has been pointed out by many, including Nate Silver, that poll is worthless. Most people who were polled don't fly at all, and have never seen a scanner. What are the numbers, Bob, among frequent flyers?

Just because people support something, doesn't make it right. What percentage of the population thought slavery was okay, or that women shouldn't be able to vote?
