The federal government warned four companies Wednesday that their caffeinated alcoholic beverages are unsafe and cannot be sold in the USA.

If the companies do not comply with the FDA directive, the agency can seize the products and sue the companies. The products "do not meet the legal standard for safety," FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg said.

"This drink was deceptively dangerous," Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., who had campaigned to ban the drinks, said in an interview Tuesday. "It was growing in popularity. The number of deaths and injuries ... was also growing."

They list incidents at the end or in all these articles.. Of course there are going to be incidents related to these drinks.

You don't see an article about Budweiser, and all of the incidents that occurred the previous week after people drank budweiser.. but as soon as one of these caffeineted drinks is involved, suddenly it's a headline??

I looked up the makers of Joose and Four Loco, two of these alcoholic energy drinks, and Joose and I believe Four Loco are produced by more independent companies. Malt liquor energy drinks may get you tore up from the floor up, but there's no need to ban them, at the very least add more warning labels, banning these will just cost us more jobs.
