Good Lord. We are finished. The only thing to save us from this tyranny is for some generous high level security guard to utilize these devices as target practices for a Dillon Aero gattling gun.

You don't doubt that this is why they banned the guns in the UK first, do you?

Will the camera check the oil too while it is at it? Maybe the tires too- that front passenger side one feels a little soft these days.

If they're already rolling this out in the UK, it's only a matter of time until someone proposes using them here.

Epic win for tyranny. :(

They have to institute fines for having low/old oil/tires, first. Then, you can expect cameras to check this - though... it'd probably be far easier to just have all cars pre-installed with monitoring devices, with real-time reporting to the government. State inspection would ensure they are being used. If pressure levels dip or exceed specified numbers, it would be reported to a gov't server which will then serve you with a ticket in the mailbox.

i just looked at the picture of the gadget in the back of a pick-up, and it doesn't look like it would be too damn difficult to move one somewhere less threatening and invasive ;)

That would be another step they'd have to take here in SC. Auto inspections were dumped years ago :)

But they would definitely be re-implemented if monitoring legislation were to be pushed through.

There's adults driving around not wearing their seat belt? How can you people sleep at night!
