"I'm not being coy at all. I'm not running for president in 2012. Period. No ifs, ands or buts, no caveats," Jindal said. "We have made great progress in Louisiana, but we've got a lot more work to do."

Is this really a good thing?

The notion that he might have been running in 2012 was media hype anyway. He may be a good governor, but he's obviously far too young to run for president.

Other people I expect not to run, but who have been hyped in the media, are:

Sarah Palin
Marco Rubio
Chris Christie
Scott Brown (LOL)

The more hyped-up media hopefuls that don't run, the better!

Really? I thought the sentiment here was the more candidates, the better shot RP had....

Now all we need is Sarah Palin to make this announcement and we are good to go!

I really don't see Mitt Romney running either. He's lost a lot of money trying. Romneycare and the bailout support should kill his chances. I don't see him wanting to lose more of his own money.

Well, that may be the sentiment of some. But clear out all the speculation, is my thought. Jindal made this poll below as a possible candidate, Paul did not - despite being a candidate in 2008, having a huge grassroots support, his son winning a Senate seat, and Ron's close 2nd place victory at CPAC last year.

I can't see him not running.

He's been all over the country trying to position himself with every winning Republican candidate (regardless of what they stand for).

I'm pretty sure the Establishment has agreed that it is now "his turn" as they did with Bush, Dole, Bush II and McShame...

People who definitely ARE running: Romney, Pawlenty

People who I think are LIKELY to run: Gingrich, Huckabee, Palin

There was a local WHO radio interview with Huckabee Monday. He sounded very likely to run.

Also, Gary Johnson and Herman Cain are likely to run, too.
