View Full Version : Sen Corker REFUSES my offering of pocket Constitution; calling it "offensive"

Matt Collins
11-12-2010, 01:24 AM
So Senator Corker (known as "Bailout Bob" in TN) held a townhall meeting tonight in Nashville about the nation's debt crisis.

I was the #3 perosn in line and I said "Senator Corker, it's highly hypocritical of you to vote for more debt one year, and then rail against the debt the next year. But regardless, would you support a bill that would allow an unrestricted audit all of the gold held by the federal government and the federal reserve... don't you think the people have a right to know how much gold the government is holding?"

He fumbled a bit, obviously not expecting this question... He then came back with something to the effect of 'well I'll take a look and get back with you in writing'.

I then said "well sir, I have seen your voting record and it's obvious you haven't read the Constitution and I would like to present you with a copy now".

I then walked to the front of the stage and tried to hand it to him.

He rambled on for a minute or two saying that "it was offensive" that I accused him of having not read the Constitution and of offering him a copy. He never took it out of my hands, so I simply laid it at his feet on the edge of the stage and walked away.

Then for the next half our he endured numerous questions from our people about the Federal Reserve :D

As soon as the people who recored it grab the audio and the video I will post it.

Yeah, fundamentals of public speaking 101: SPIN!

You take something said bad about you, and then you turn around and spin it into something positive to get the room back on your side.

Sadly many people bought into it. BUT, there were several questions at the end (not sure if it was before the recording cut off) about where in the Constitution authorized his vote for the TARP bailout, and where in the Constitution the Federal Reserve is authorized. He fumbled both of them, stammered around, said the courts do it, it's up to interpretation, etc. Fortunately most people in the room didn't care for that particular answer, nor did they buy it. :o

Having backup is important. Everyone who attends a meeting and plans this kind of question should have supporters in the audience that can provide support for them.

Would phrasing the lead up to presenting him a copy of the Constitution have helped? Maybe something along the lines of...."Based on a review of your voting record, you voted for _____ and ______ and ______ and _______ - and I have a copy of the Constitution here, and I would respectfully ask that you direct myself and the audience to the section of the Constitution that authorizes those things you voted for? I brought an additional copy of the Constitution for you to use as reference in your response, here it is."

Just a thought.....

Good press coverage. I think some people don't get the point of these so called "town hall meetings". Corker was hoping to waltz into town and be able to waltz back to DC and claim "My constituents agree with me on such and such." Instead the press shows that his positions are just as disliked here as is Obamacare.

Yeah, Corker gives away all his income to charity...

...and holds 90% of his assets in a barely arms length nominee corporation named "Luken Holdings."

In June 2009, GE Captial called Luken's loans. This means the company was in default. Just about the same time Corker started making noise about the Federal Reserve remaining independent.

However, Luken Holdings was mysteriously able to refinance 28 million dollars in loans through Wells Fargo this year.

Would you loan 28 million dollars to a bankrupt company?

I would if it meant I got to keep a Senator's balls in a vice grip.

I think Collins ended up sounding pretty rude.

These guys are doing it to us in every hole we've got, as well as a few they've managed to drill for their own perversity. We're probably fighting for our lives here so I am not sure that strict adherence to quiet courtesy is always a good idea.

Consider the typical ways in which these vermin answer questions they don't like - they go on and on, sometimes for minutes at a clip, sometimes rambling in a nearly incoherent fashion, then move on to the next question. IOW, they don't provide any meaningful answer - just a lot of two-stepping. How is that not rude? Just because the cockroach in question did not respond with "shut the fuck up you little cock sucker", it does not follow that his response was polite. Failing to answer, lying, and other methods of deception and evasion are ultimately rude for they broadcast the speaker's bald-faced contempt for those who make the queries. I would have to assess their behavior as far and away more rude than anyone who is fed up with this sort of treatment, therefore becoming rather direct in his approach to getting straight answers.

Gotta keep your positions straight on such issues. Be circumspect and look at what is really going on from the standpoint of fundamental interactions. This is so important because without such eyes one cannot help but get caught up in the irrelevant and superficial trappings of an event. Don't get sucked in like that. Have better eyes than that. This goes for us all.

Matt did well. Trust me on this one.

And the first thing on his mind should be "where the hell is OUR money?"

(edit)

Wow! Got through that audio file and the questions are amazing coming from just normal people. They are really asking the hard questions and seem educated on the issues.

I bet he wasn't expecting that at all. Talk about a wake up call for him!
