It's easy to vote that way on an online poll, and not so easy to actually give up speedy travel, especially if you need to go overseas.

Have you quit beating your wife?

Yes or no

Have you quit beating your wife?

Yes or no

This question seems to be flawed.
1) It assumes the reader is male, so wrong in 50% of cases.
2) It assumes the reader is married so wrong in most of the remaining 50% of cases.
3) It assumes I beat said spouse, though that is cause for divorce, not to mention a restraining order, so likely past tense, if the poor girl has any common sense.
4) it's really, really hard to simultaneously beat your wife and type yes or no, so if you're getting an answer of any sort, its safe to assume that the person has stopped beating their wife to type at ya! :D

I'm sure a lot of people fit in axiomata's category. That said I'm also sure that some optional flights will be canceled in order to avoid this atrocity. As much as I dislike the idea of being manhandled, if it comes down to it I will go for the pat down instead of the scanner because the patdown will slow down the entire process. If everybody refused the scanners the TSA would be overwhelmed, airlines would have to delay flights and eventually the program would be seen as untenable.

My sister refused a few months back, (due to fear of radiation, not civil liberties) and the pat down wasn't that bad at all. Although, this was before the open palm policy.

They recently put them in my local airport. I'm considering, now more than ever, to use trains and buses for my long-distance travel needs.
