The idea is to contact those that have already donated to Ron Paul but haven't maxed out yet and inform them about November 5th. While phone numbers are not available, their street addresses are. A nice postcard with the information and website sent to as many Ron Paul donors as possible would go along way in helping us reach our 100,000 goal.

The way to obtain addresses is through the donor database provided by the FEC.

The Open Secrets donor search does not provided addresses, but it is easy and simple to use to obtain names of donors.

The one provided by the Huffington Post allows one to search by names of people and obtain their street address. It does not provide zip code, but the Open Secrets one does.

Why is it 100,000 people? Am I dumb or is 10,000 X 100 1 million? 100,000 people would be one third of the population giving 100 dollars - never in a million years going to happen.

What am I missing here?

Whoever is in charge of the main nov 5 website needs to change it to 10,000

There are 300,000,000 people in the US. 100,000 is not one third of the population. And the goal is 10 million in one day. But I think 10,000 donors is reachable giving us 1 mil in one day.

I agree. 10,000 should have been the goal from the outset. Its a huge number by itself. Just think about the campaign going for $500,000 that week. People got excited by the early success which drew more donations than they imagined possible. Nothing wrong trying for 10k, maybe reaching that goal then having the floodgates open with thousands more looking to jump on the bandwagon.

Do you think it would be possible to get the campaign to mention the November 5th drive in one of their emails to supporters?

Duh I messed up. I do actually know there are 300+ million people in america. haha - I'm trying to correct others and I end up being corrected.

The point is - everybody is SAYING the goal is 10 million so that should me 100 from 10,000 people.

With so many signed up this goal WILL be reached but let's make sure everybody knows that it's a goal that can and will be reached. 100,000 can not be reached and when people see that they will wonder why they should participate.

It makes the thing look like a trick to get SOME people to donate
