A newly elected Republican congressman said in a little-noticed interview Tuesday he'd have "no hesitation whatsoever" in beginning an investigation of the former President George W. Bush for torture.

When I ran for congressman in 2008 -- I’m just a freshman here, George W. Bush, Orrin Hatch, and Bob Bennett, three Republicans, they campaigned against me, so I don’t mind going back and looking at ‘em. So I don’t have any hestitation whatsoever.

Send Bush through a body scanner a few dozen times first. ;)

Wow! I knew I liked Chaffetz, but this is better than I thought. Saying that took guts.

Yep. Do we know if he has any plans to run?

Orrin Hatch is endorsed and backed by the LDS Church, as great as it would be to get rid of him he's not going anywhere until he decides to.

He's been making noises to that effect lately.

BTW if we were using a wise strategy, we would focus on this race before Schiff, since this is much more winnable.

Isn't that the case for every Utah politician?

EVERY? No, not particularly. Sure they'll support two politicians running against one another in the way the DNC "supported" everyone not named Obama, but it is made perfectly clear who the candidate they want in office is from the onset. Hatch is their establishment boy and thanks to breeding like rabbits they have the votes to keep him in office until he dies of old age.

Yep, Chaffetz is awesome.

Could you imagine if Utah had Lee and Chaffetz as its senators?

We need to start finding candidates for state legislature in Utah, since there's obviously something in the water out there. Maybe Utah could be the Mormon version of the FSP :D
