raise the age to 65, 67, 69.......how long until they raise the retirement age to 150?
I mean technically they won't just be stealing our money from us, just none of us will live long enough to cash in.

um, that was the plan in the beginning.
the age at which you would recieve benefits was a couple years shy of the average life expectancy in 1933.
the program was designed to not be used by most people because they would already be dead, thus the government could use the money for their buddies.

unexpectantly, life spans have increase dramatically since then... thus the problem with the scam.

Well "couple years shy of average life expectancy" is not quite what I said. I said raise it to the age of which NOBODY cashes in. Quite a bit of a difference there.

the intention was to have very few people cashing in... it was intended to be a scam from the beginning.
let me set up a retirement account for you, but you can't cash it out until you are 90.
i've got a good chance to take all your wealth, because you will never achieve the age of pay-out.
that was always the intent.

I saw guys from this thing on C Span. The democrat, Bill Bradley didn't seem to really get it. He was going on about raising gas prices.
