Ethanol in gasoline is actually causing more harm than any alleged benefit from reducing the burning of carbon-based fuels. I shot a video yesterday of a small engine mechanic talking about all the ways that ethanol harms small engines, such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, boat motors and jet skis, chain saws, generators, etc. He also showed us some very interesting (and alarming) examples of damage done by ethanol in the small engines he works on each day.

Its bad for a lot of car engines too. I got screwed on a road trip after I inadvertently got E89 or something. The dealer was well aware of what caused the problem. told me to avoid the stuff.
