Wow, some of those YouTube comments are incredibly disheartening. Lots of foaming at the mouth, with many self-appointed arbiters of "gay goodthink" calling the Rand supporter a traitor.

What is it about this one silly wedge issue that makes both parties cling so desperately to it? It boggles my mind how it is even thought to be a matter of public policy at all.

The state shouldn't be "promoting gay equality" or "undermining hetero-dominant society" any more than it should be "protecting the sanctity of marriage" or "enshrining family values."

Whether you believe gay marriage is OK or not, why must anybody's personal preference be either affirmed or denied through coercive force? What's with the "one-size-fits-all", "my-way-or-the-highway" crap?! Haven't we evolved beyond this type of small-minded savagery yet?

Wow, hey you should really call up this guy..

The host was trying to make the point that pretty much all Republicans are anti-gay by stating that only 4 Republican congressmen voted to repeal Don't ask Don't Tell and was insinuating that Rand Paul is anti-gay.

Well guess what? It was actually 5 Republican congressmen who voted to repeal, and one of them was Rand Paul's father Ron Paul!!

I would also make the point that he said black people shouldn't vote for somebody who thinks blacks should be treated unequally, or Jews shouldn't vote for anti-Semites.. that is false.. NOBODY should vote for someone who thinks blacks should be treated unequally or who is anti-Semitic!! Rand Paul doesn't think gays or blacks should be treated unequally, though he respects private property rights.
