I don't know if you've been following this, but there has been this all war all the time meeting in Nova Scotia with McCain and Lindsay et al, and they seem to be trying to gin up the war drums, or sanctions or whatever, anything, apparently, before more level headed senators come into office. They are trying to push Obama into a more militaristic stance so we would be committed, from what I've read coming out of that meeting.

"The Republican Party is going to have two wings," he said at a high-level security conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, sponsored by the German Marshall Fund and the Canadian government. "The isolationist wing, and the wing led by [Sen. John] McCain [Ariz.], Graham and [Sen. Jeff] Sessions [Ala.] that says you'd better stay involved in the world because if you do disengage, you'll regret it."

"If you ask Rand Paul about NATO and ask Rob Portman, you'll get two different answers," Graham said. Paul, just elected GOP senator from Kentucky, is a tea party favorite. Portman, a former House member and George W. Bush administration international trade representative, has a record of foreign involvement.

I don't think that Rand has ever said that we should withdraw from NATO.

And that's another thing, since when does Graham lead ANYONE?

Great. So, when do we get to have the debate?

So far Graham is just running around the world calling himself a leader, from far enough away that the audience can't hear our laughter.

Yeah just saw that. This is the most troubling:

Graham called the lack of candidate debate on national security "stunning." The electorate should "challenge" newly elected lawmakers "early on," he said, asking "what is your view of the world?" Lawmakers should "go back home and tell people why no treaty with Russia is a good thing if a good thing could be had" with some changes to the document the administration has negotiated with Moscow, as many Republicans have advocated.

I think that is directed squarely at Rand Paul. I think the CNN appearance and the Amanpour/This Week appearance has the goal of doing just that. If this is the case it won't be a "challenge" as much as a smear campaign against Rand Paul. Channeling Alex Pareene mode of expression it'd go something like this:

"Oh you oppose more aid to Israel AND have qualms about Civil Rights? It can't be because you're a libertarian it's because you are anti-Semite racist!

"Forget that a different approach to education and criminal justice would be one of the great leaps forward for African Americans in 50 years and forget that the Neocons attacking you for being a racist would--in the same breathe--make some crazy charge that you're an apologist for radical Islamic terror. You're such a racist that you love Arabs killing white Americans! That makes perfect sense! You're also anarchist that wants to raise taxes too!"

As we've seen in other threads, Frum, Graham, and Co are on the offensive. Let's see how much pull they've got with the MSM.

Tomorrow should be interesting.

We need to recruit someone like Jack Hunter (Southern Avenger) or some other liberty minded person to get Graham out of the Senate. Getting Graham out of the Senate has to be one of our priorities. That man is SCUM!

Lindsey views Ron and the liberty movement as an enemy. Don't for a second believe anything he says/does regarding Rand, because Rand is his enemy by extension.

I think Rand can take Lindsay with Rand's hands tied behind his back.

Yes, we'll have two wings.
One is patriot wing (i.e. Ron Paul, Amash, Rand, and etc.) and the other is traitor wing led by the very people who have been well paid by the Military Industrial Complex and AIPAC (i.e. John McCain, Graham and others).

I think Hunter could run a campaign that can fuel the anger SC has towards Graham. If he says no, then Sanford should consider a run.

Honestly, the majority(the 2010 election majority) won't take those attacks seriously. They'll think that those are ridiculous claims and laugh, as will I.

The debate is going to happen on the floor of the US senate when it comes time to invade Iran or another boogey-man country. And Rand is going to have to figure out how he is going to vote. As most people have said on these forums since the start of Rand's campaign, he is NOT his father.

BS! I think just by reading ole Lindsay's remarks on Rand we know where he stands on issues of foreign policy.

Also we the grassroots in general better get ready for a possible all out smear campaign against Rand in the future if they cannot successfully get him to "fall in line."

Sanford would have no chance, his career is over.
