Don't even pretend like Jon Stewart isn't funny. You just don't like him because he's a liberal.

BenIsForRon, RPF stewart groupie #1, attributes to me something I didn't imply. how can he understand stewart's jokes when he can't even read?

If it's any consolation, I don't know anybody who watches David Letterman. Between Craig Ferguson's superior comedy and Jimmy Fallon's great house band and musical guests, those two chaps have the whole late night thing sewn up, IMO.

Are you serious?

Letterman has to be one of the most overrated, unfunny people in the history of television/life in general.

He has never once said a single thing to make me laugh.

His top ten lists are things only my corny 80 year old grandfather would find amusing

It's just bad jokes, flash a grin, and loud obnoxious laughter from Paul

The fact that this man is so popular explains so much about the American public.

Jon Stewart provides intelligent social and political commentary - even if he often advances views that I find incorrect or disturbing

Letterman always came off as creepy to me.

Someone who brings his mistress along to family vacations and makes jokes about knocked-up 14 year olds doesn't really have much credibility.

Maybe he'll do something that reveals his good judgment like announce his next affair as monologue to millions of strangers again

He has always been the Democrat's bitch along with a few other comedians such as Bill Maher.

Back during the mid Bush years (in fairness, before I was cured of my idiocy by Ron Paul) I hated John Stewart.... However, over the years, especially more recently, I have really come to respect John Stewart. I like him. Hes liberal but hes fair and definitely isnt a blind dumbass like Bill Maher.

However, as Ive stated before, I HATE Stephen Colbert. Stephen is a total unfair and unabashed liberal douche in EVERY sense of that word. He sucks so bad, I cant stand his face. Its very sad because hes really really funny, however, I just cant stand his snide EXTREMELY unfair comments towards conservatives, yet hardly if not at any jokes towards liberals. Then all his guests on his shows are ALWAYS democrats and people who litterally worship Obama.. Or he has complete unabashed Keynesians like the liberal douche professor who teaches at Berkley (go figure.. Berkley, huh? What a coincidence) and talks about taking from rich to bridge gap between rich and poor, but not that it should be done naturally, but that the infallable government should do it. I HATE Colbert! But I really love Stewart....

You're spot on about John Stewart. But unless you think Ron Paul is a democrat, you are wrong about Stephen Colbert.

YouTube - Ron Paul 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trAiCwzSVho)

And to everyone hating on Stewart, how quickly we forget how helpful to us Stewart and Colbert were to us in 2007/2008. I haven't seen any instance of Colbert or Stewart stabbing Ron Paul or Rand Paul in the back like Maddow and O'Donnell have from the left or O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, and others from "Faux News" did from the right. If you have a clip of Colbert or Stewart dissing the Pauls then post it. Just because they diss generic "conservatives" doesn't mean jack. Generic "conservatives" deserve to be dissed! I'm talking about the scum who spoke against bailouts, bu then voted for TARP or who want to talk about "fiscal conservatism" while at the same time they can't think of a country that they don't want to invade. We are not them!

Stephen Colbert and John Stewart clips from the days when everybody here was cheering them.

As for David Letterman, I'm not sure what people were expecting. No matter how much we rationalized what happened here in the Paulian "echo chamber", what dufus did by stepping on that lady's shoulder made us look bad. Rand did the right thing by immediately distancing himself from the shoulder stepper, but there's still going to be fallout. We're not the angry mob throwing snowballs at Sean Hannity and being ignored no matter what we do anymore. From now on we well be attacked and our candidates will be judged when we show a lack of judgment. It's time to face up and deal with that like adults.

Great post. The dude fucked up and contributed to the perception that all conservatives are angry and prone to violence.

Part of what we're doing is trying to break that image. We need to get into everyone's heads that this is above all a reasonable, peaceful movement.

Every now and then Letterman is able to utter something that gives me a good chuckle. Also, he makes fun of Sarah Palin all the time. That makes him the coolest thing in the world, right?

@JMDrake- Long time no chat, brother! Tu Che', by the way... However, Im again going to have to disagree with you....

You see, if what you said is true, then you would have to say that Rachel Madcow is also our ally because she gave Ron and Rand lots of love at first. However, as soon as Rand became a threat to a Democrat she pounced like a wild and masculine Puma. They all LOVE Ron Paul when they are a thorn in the side of the GOP, but as soon as they are headed against ANY liberal, no matter how far left or socialist or even loony (lets say an equally embarrasing Democrat progressive version of Christine Odonnell for example, if there was one) the Democrat liberal is, they will run the bus right over Ron and Rand. Now this isnt just speculation. The media EQUALLY loved Rand Paul until he was against the great CONway/man... The moment that broke the straw on the camel's back was that viciously mean spirited segment Colbert did against Rand Paul when the whole "controversy" (for lack of a better term) over the self certified opthomalogist organization Rand created. You know, the whole thing with the cat and Rand being a crazy nut case.... I thought "you slimy, monkey piece of s**t!..." I wanted to strangle Colbert because you will NEVER see him do that to a liberal candidate no matter how much controversy surrounds him. The ONLY example I can think of in recent memory of calling a democrat a rat is recently he said that about a Democrat congressman in Luisiana who turned Republican... What a shocker, huh?

Now John Stewart would never do any of the above. Hes given Rand respect, or at least left him alone in respect to Stewart's respect to papa Ron Paul. Thats my two cents. I CANT STAND Colbert. Hes an A-hole. I love how he constantly uses straw man arguments when trying to embarrass conservatives (like Rand) over immigration by making us (who are against illegal immigration) look like racists for not wanting open borders. He tried to paint Rand a complete biggot for the whole private business freedom stuff as well and better defining the constitution for protecting the US against anchor babies and I agree WHOLE HEARTEDLY that we must fix this REDICULOUS loop hole in our citizenship laws. How dare a man die fighting our pointless war so he can get citizenship when someone else simply has to squat and pop out 10s of babies and now have access to wellfare (yes, a MAJORITY, believe it or not and REAL MAJORITY of anchor babies are on social wellfare of one kind or another including free delivery which costs $60k per baby) and can then make a moral claim as to why they shouldnt be deported (because we cant split families, right?!?!!?! Give me a break... Nobody asked you to pop a baby here!)...... Again, thats my two cents, like it or not....

@lordindra3

First, thanks for the kind words. I wasn't on for a while as I just have to take a break from places like this every so often.

As for Rachel Madcow, like I said, she stabbed Rand in the back. O'Donnell stabbed Ron in the back. Has Stephen Colbert done that? If so then he's on the crapper list too. If he hasn't, then I have him (loosely) in the category of John Stewart. For me the bright line in the said is "have you dumped on Ron or Rand." If Colbert dumps on "conservatives" I don't care. I dump on them sometimes. I suppose my "Don't dump on us" circle goes a bit further. No dumping on Adam Kokesh or BJ Lawson or RJ Harris or Peter Schiff. (Those guys might have appreciated being dumped on since that was a step up from being totally ignored). No dumping on Judge Napalitano either. But Sarah Palin dumping? While I try hard these days not to dump on her myself, I don't put her in the Ron / Rand "you'd better not mess with her lest you feel my wrath" category. I put Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham and others in the same category as Palin. Bill O'Reilly is still in my "please dump on them" category as is Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Maybe I'm wrong for that, but that's just how I divide my world. It's not just "friends" versus "enemies". It's "friends" versus "enemies" versus "I don't care one way or another".

Edit: And no dumping on "The Collins"

He specifically targeted Rand once: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/313483/june-22-2010/usa-board-of-ophthalmological-freedom

and the stomp once. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/28/colbert-rand-paul-head-stomp_n_775274.html

The latter case is fair game imo. I haven't watched the video recently but he mostly made fun of the assailant rather than Rand Paul I think.

The first case about the board was partisan hackery imo. Rand is Duke Medical graduate and has to maintain a state medical license every three years through forced education credits (http://kbml.ky.gov/physician/cme.htm) board or no-board.

I've noticed other things that I can't remember right now that show Colbert is a more of a partisan hack. I don't know if that was the case when he began but it's definitely the feeling I got the last time I watched him months ago.

Letterman's been stale since about '95, not long after he moved to CBS.

And say what you will about Kevin Eubanks, but Paul Schaefer has long been the biggest ass kissing sidekick in late night.
