So now that the elections are over and we've chased all the Big Bad Dems out of congress happy days are back right?

Wrong.

With a lame duck session all the outgoing Democrats will heave one last blast against freedom in what is known as a "Lame Duck Session". We've said "Get out" but they have one last stone to cast.

I cannot comprehend how we can stand by complacently while those men and women we just voted out of power pass MORE unconstitutional legislation!

I found this awesome resource online with phone numbers to call and all the steps to take to stop the lame duck session. Thought I would share it with all you Liberty Lovers!

It was authored by Tom DeWeese and I found it at this link: http://americanpolicy.org/sledgehammer-action-alerts/stop-the-lame-duck-session.html

Let's let them know that when we say "no" we mean "NO"!

Maybe they will get rid of DOMA before a social conservative wave takes over.

I don't get it; what's wrong with lame-duck sessions? Legislative gridlock is the absolute best case scenario that could have come out of the election, and we got it. It'll be the mid to late '90s all over again...I can't wait!

There is a reason they escort you out of the building upon firing you. In office they let you stay long enough to get even.

Obama's old seat was IMMEDIATELY filled with a GOPer. That gives them a extra cushion for a filler-buster. The lame duck session is likely to be tame because of this.

Well , if the dems who have ethics problems are pulled out , that would be helpful.

Imagine you're in an office and your boss fires you. He then tells you you can stick around for a few months. He lets you keep all the t, passwords to important financial and other documents. Well now you have the ability to ruin the company with no consequences to yourself. Dumb boss right?

The American people are the boss in that analogy. When we fire those in office we should pack them up immediately. Why do we let them stick around and pass more legislation when they have nothing to lose by passing every last piece of unconstitutional legislation they can??

They need to re-up the Bush tax cuts for at least couple more years before they leave session. They will not risk doing something that is too controversial, lest the GOP have even more ammo against D's in 2012.

I agree, and had thought about the same thing just recently. The system should be set up so that the losing incumbents are replaced immediately.

Either this action or preventing the US Congress from assembling from the time of the election until the new Congress convenes.

In normal circumstances, I would say prevent a session from occurring in between the election and the Congress, but I think that Congress should be allowed to convene if we are actually at war, or the President needs to request a declaration of war.

With this term however, those tax cuts need to continue for at least the next three years. The Dems and GOP need to get that passed.

We do need to take this seriously! They will try to pass most of this heinous legislation during the holiday season when most people won't want to take the time or energy to oppose anything.

Remember that the Federal Reserve Act was passed close to Christmas! Moreover, a lot of GOP congressmen may opt to stay home with their families!
