I think this is a profound decision he will have to make.
What do yall think?

Well I selected the poll option but then didn't see where to edit the poll. So yeah, whats the use to have a poll option box to select if it doesn't work?

Don't worry, it won't take long for Ron Paul to beat the snot out of the Federal Reserve as a Chairman of the subcommittee, and then he'll be able to move on to the presidency if Bernanke isn't ready to cry 'uncle.'

To my knowledge, one can run for President and still retain one's place in Congress if the Presidential bid is unsuccessful. Then again, subcommittee positions might be a different story.

It is possible to hold leadership positions and run for Presidency. The reigning Speaker used to be a strong candidate in the Presidential race.

I think the main point is that as a committee chairman, Dr. Paul will simply be too busy to run an effective campaign. You'll recall that Ron wasn't able to spend all that much time campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire in 2007 because he takes his Congressional duties so seriously, he refuses to miss a vote. He would need to spend even more time in the Capitol if he's chairing a subcommittee and leading the crusade to save the dollar from certain doom.

This is actually a rather difficult choice to make.

He should definitely run, no question.

He's gotta run. We need at least another crack at it with him at the helm and if not 2012, maybe 2016 with Rand..

The main priority of a pres run would be again to spread his ideas as far wide as possible and those debates certainly accomplish that. These ideas will be out in the open and can then be used if a crisis does unfold instead of turning to some socialist ideology.
