The biggest question for many going forward is whether Rand Paul can maintain his largely libertarian brand of Republicanism after he arrives in Washington. Ron Paul directly addressed the question of compromise.
“If they want to increase government by 100 percent and they increase government by 50 percent, that’s not compromise, that’s a sellout,” he said to cheers. “If our side wants to reduce government by 50 percent and we end up only reducing it by 25 percent, that’s a compromise we can live with.”
