Balanced budget amendment?

Will we get one with the new wave of Republicans in the house and the over all sentiment of the country? I think Republicans and Democrats can agree that a balanced budget is critical to the future success of our nation.

Rand Paul said this is his first priority once he gets into office. Do you think we can get one passed?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rand introduce it himself. Whether or not it will be passed by the houses then eventually ratified by the states is another story altogether.

No. They talk fiscal responsiblity but have no problems spending money they don't have as easliy as the Democrats do. Balancing the budget requires making hard questions like cutting spending and raising taxes which are politically difficult to vote for.
