Joe Walsh (R-Tea) is leading by only 800 votes with ~99% reported

He wants to "take our country back" :) and is possibly needing some education re: The Wars.

According to Wikipedia he has called himself a " socially liberal Republican" and is a former teacher who is huge on school choice. Sounds interesting.

But foreign policy is my litmus test for serious fiscal conservatism. Joe Miller level skepticism of global democratic revolution is a minimum. I have no idea where he stands on this stuff and would like to know more.

Hope he wins, it's really close @99%

I believe in the values of our founding fathers as espoused in the 28 founding principles, not the least of which are: limited government, free enterprise and the rule of law as established by our Constitution.

Found this from Chicago Sun-Times candidate survey (http://media.suntimes.com/images/cds/endorsements/ELECTIONS2010/joe-walsh.pdf):

What should be the American military and political strategy over the next two years in Afghanistan?

American military and political strategy should be developed by the commanders in the
field and the State Department as directed by the Commander-in-Chief. President Obama seemed to have signed on to the military strategy developed by General McChrystal in March only to question it recently because of domestic political pressure from his left. I am encouraged that after months of delay, he finally seems to be giving his generals most of what they require to get the job done.

Military and political success in Afghanistan is vitally important. Withdrawing
prematurely or failing to achieve out goals would allow the Taliban and Al-Qaeda to
regroup and reestablish the same base of operations from which they launched the
September 11 attacks. It would also further destabilize Pakistan and risk the possibility
that this nuclear armed state could fall under the control of Islamic extremists. America needs to devote any and all necessary resources to preventing this from happening.

What should be the American military and political strategy in Iraq?

President Obama seems to be following the Status of Forces Agreement and withdrawal
strategy negotiated by President Bush and should continue to do. The only thing that
should change this strategy is if the security situation dramatically deteriorates and
requires us to reengage American troops to preserve the gains we have achieved there.

What should be done to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons?

We should do everything possible to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. This
is a nation that actively supports international terrorism and is bent on the destruction of Israel. They mock and scorn our every attempt at negotiation. Now is the time to begin applying crushing economic sanctions including an embargo of refined gasoline to get them to change their behavior. If Russia and China will not participate in the embargo, it will be ineffective and we will have to consider military action, either alone, in conjunction with Israel, or by Israel alone to eliminate Iranian nuclear sites.

Blech. He's for "the free enterprise system" but also for "crushing economic sanctions", hmmm. I'm worrid about the Middle East foreign policy (http://lynch.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2010/11/02/does_the_election_matter_for_the_middle_east) of this Republican Congress.

Yes, I mentioned The Wars, that part seems to ruin too many "limited Gov" people, thanks.

Perhaps we need a very polite letter-writing campaign to attempt to persuade him to read Blowback or Dying to Win.
