The Conway people must be feeling a little down, so I thought I'd post something that might cheer them up a bit. And there's just nothing better than this inspiring German tune from Howard Carpendale, which strangely enough never did take off a couple of years ago. See if you don't think this modern classic should be ranked right up there with Stairway to Heaven.

YouTube - Howard Carpendale - Yes we can 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVmaRFUcEs8)

I'm getting this odd premonition that this may not be out there for too much longer, so why don't we all download and post our own personal copies if need be, to ensure that it will always be there, to encourage future generations.

These uplifting words just about make me cry, every time I read them.

YES WE CAN

I've known him from the TV
for over a year
At first I was skeptical
but in the end it was clear to me,
that if someone is going to change something
it will surely be him
And I would have shouted along
if I had been there:

Yes We Can!
Yes We Can!

It was the night of nights
and I was awake until the morning
And I wished for nothing more
than for this black man to make it
I would have loved to have been there
as thousands were with you
and I would have with everyone
yelled into Heaven:

Yes We Can!
Yes we can persevere
against every obstacle

Yes We Can!
If it must be, we'll go
with our hearts through the wall

Yes We Can!
Yes we can together
go into a better future

Yes We Can!
Yes we can turn the wind
one more time

Yes We Can!

And I felt deep inside my heart
a great confidence
And as with so many
there were tears of joy on my face
Write it in capital letters on building walls
paint the streets full of them
Tell the people who still doubt:
"We can do anything, if we want to!"
