this would so be the headline if an upset is pulled... I want this more than I want any other win.

The figures should be coming really soon. I'm looking forward to this one regardless of the outcome. ;)

I love John Dennis, but I don't think he's going to win. This makes me sad - he deserves to be in Congress.

Ditto...I'm still reeling over B.J. Lawson's loss, but seeing Pelosi go down in flames (and to a real libertarian no less) would more than make up for it.

From preliminary results, voters are generally selecting the incumbents in CA. However, if the current trend continues, Republicans will gain some seats in the House of Representatives from CA.

Republicans are only 9% of San Francisco voters. Getting over 20% of the vote is good. Over 30% would be spectacular.

Even Ron Paul told Dennis "Have fun with this" for a reason.

The CA-8 district is quite small in area and mainly encompasses the metropolitan area of San Francisco. At the moment, only CA-14 seems smaller so it's amazing that Dennis is even at 18% currently ... we'll see how he performs as tomorrow dawns.

He's doing about twice as well as any Republican in the district since the '94 GOP sweep.

So it's an improvement.

I want Nancy to turn in her fleet of jets now. Cancel the orders. Let her fly with the rest of us.

She is so going to be upset about that.

Wow, considering how much they complain about everything I figured they had a low pain tolerance. :)

I don't know what it's going to take for them to wake up. I have trouble understanding a persons motive to vote for Pelosi.

ehh... i'm still hoping for the big 10.0 scale earth quake and California just drops in to the Pacific Ocean. No more California, no more problem... and Nevada becomes beach front property.

Just got back from the John Dennis election night party.

The votes are all in. John Dennis got 15% of the vote. This is a minor achievement compared to the last few Republicans to run against Pelosi (Republicans got 9% in 2008), but nowhere near what we had hoped to achieve.

However, to be completely honest, we didn't run the campaign we should have. The odds were stacked against us and we frankly needed the PERFECT campaign to even have a chance. We didn't run a perfect campaign. Far from it.

I hope John will stay involved with politics, I feel he has a bright future if he works at it and learns from past mistakes.

John thanks all of you that donated and helped out with his campaign.

I definitely hope he stays in politics. He took on a huge challenge and although its a disappointing loss he could probably win in another district, especially with the press that he got from this run.

I wasn't expecting a win ... but I sure expected better than this. It's too bad CA had close state-wide races. He really needed to run in an election where the DEMS would stay home. Perhaps if there ends up being a special election and the DEMS run a Pelosi clone:eek:, then there could be some debates that would wake people up.

Pelosi is going to resign soon, just like Newt or any leader that was expected to go down with their ship did.

That means a special election.

The John Dennis political machine is making its maiden voyage tonight.

It will be a tested seaworthy vessel by the time Pelosi finds a suitable heiress to serve as a new Brood Queen for the liberal hive mind.

I am so proud and happy with what the John Dennis 2010 campaign accomplished.

1) We beat the Neocon GOP Establishment in the primary.
2) We got the attention of the local grassroots, and started many discussions within it.
3) We made many of Pelosi's voters realize that they hate her and only support her Party.
4) We got the attention of the nation with a viral video, feeding the Fire Pelosi meme.
5) We exposed Pelosi as too haughty and arrogant to debate her opponent.
6) We got a decent amount of votes, including one non-GOP vote for every registered Republican.
7) We forged a new generation of Tea Party political machine, right in the heart of the Beast.
8) We have changed the debate, from 'what does Nancy want' to 'when will Nancy go away?'

Of course disappointment is natural because Pelosi is still there, but I hate to see my peeps feel bad about their strategy. I don't think that any amount of GOTV would have helped much. John Dennis could have dinner with every voter in the district and wouldn't break 25%. We were dealing with rapidly diminishing marginal return on GOTV efforts.

My only suggestion for future efforts is to get billboards put up early, get bumper stickers out, and make it look like there is a contested seat that's the subject of a political campaign.

Obviously, San Franciscans can't get enough of Pelosi's filthy corporatism and glorious perpetual wars.

How should their ignorant decision bind those who abstained from voting, or voted against her?

Just because a democracy is made from two wolves and a sheep doesn't mean the sheep deserves to be eaten.
