He CLAIMS victory? His opponent is just a poor sport who wanted the win to be declared after everyone went to sleep.

+1

I almost wanna do what people in the Middle East do - I wanna take my firearm outside and shoot up the sky to celebrate. Of course, I will do no such thing, but I will say CONGRATULATIONS SENATOR-ELECT RAND PAUL!

Rand is the great fusion candidate we've been waiting for. I've said this numerous times.

even if they didn't really like it, they need something to find comfort on, as this is an extremely disappointing night for them: toomey, miller, angle, and buck, who were seen as very likely winners just a few days ago, might lose

Toomey is going to win. He's up 30,000. And don't write off Angle and Miller.

I agree.

He is the attractive, intelligent, young face that we need. He has just proven that he can attract rank-and-file Republicans, independents, and Dems in the biggest race in the world outside American POTUS.

This man was not known beyond his patient base a mere 2 years ago. Now he is an international name. Wow.

Potus!

He is going to have to channel his father for that to happen.

Anyone on that panel who agreed with the comment that not raising the debt ceiling will put the U.S. into default (and reek havoc on the world financial markets... blah blah) is a moron. As long as the interest payment on the debt is paid, from the tax revenues, there is no default. Warfare/welfare programs would have to be cut to make up the "lost" debt-funded deficit.

For Liberty!
"I will ask the Senate, respectfully, to deliberate upon this -- <...>"

"Freedom is best when enjoyed by the most"

"We must once again believe in ourselves"

Reagan-esque?

Nice. But I hope somebody tubes what happened before Rand's speech too. Ron gave a great introduction via video link. And two of Rand's sons played the rift from the AC/DC song "TNT" right before Rand came on.
