Andrew McMichael, a dean at Western Kentucky University and a supporter of Mr. Conway, said he has known Mr. Paul for years and considered him "one of the most extreme libertarians I have ever met." He said he was so sure Mr. Paul was unelectable this spring that he bet a friend an expensive beer that he would lose. "Now I'm going to end up paying a lot of money for a bottle of beer on Wednesday," he said Monday evening.

A dean at a funded university would think McCain was an extreme libertarian, though.
