Many people cannot grasp the FED's status.
This is what I have been using to get though to them.
To stabilize the wide jumps in gas prices we should grant Exxon a monoply control of energy production. To make it fair we would have the president appoint the board of energy governors but after that all meetings to set the gas prices would be in absolute secrecy. Exxon should have the power to regulate and punish all lesser oil companies. They should have complete and absolute control over what kind of energy is produced and it should be illegal for any competing energy source to be marketed. Exxon shall have complete atonomy and shall not be audited.
