LEXINGTON, Ky. — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul on Monday condemned a series of automated telephone calls placed to Kentucky voters over the weekend that attack him — one of them saying he has a plan to “legalize meth labs.”
That call and one that brings up Paul's ties to a college group that mocked religion were made by the Kentucky Leadership Council, a political action committee led by Louisville attorney Andrew Horne.
“That's the kind of stuff that has no place in public discourse,” said Paul, who crisscrossed Kentucky by air on the campaign's final day, making more than a half-dozen stops from Hazard to Paducah.
At a news conference at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Paul predicted victory and said a big win for him would help other Republican candidates
