Actually, he was a talented actor.

Everybody pokes fun at Bedtime for Bonzo, but he was in a number of films and TV shows.

Kings Row was actually very good.

The last half of Reagan's cinematic career, was that of a declining B-List actor. He was not a big "draw" when he left the studios.
