Well this is not so great but at least we have an explanation now: http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1110/Morgan_Freeman_I_never_recorded_campaign_ad.html

On one hand, Lawson just made national headlines 24 hours before election day. On the other hand, this is not necessarily in a good way, and now he also needs to get another ad on the air quickly.

This seems shady and almost seems like a setup. The timing is just all too unreal.

Yeah stinks for the campaign but this is not a make or break situation at this late stage. Kinda weird that for both Rand and Lawson supposed supporters have been the cause of negative attention near the end of their campaigns.

I was literally talking about Price when this broke...and Price had a press release WITHIN 5 MINUTES of Ben Smith breaking the story. This whole thing reeks.

Honestly the whole "Shawshank Deception" seemed too pat.

Right. They obviously had this planned.

Apparently the Lawson campaign has a contract that says Morgan Freeman did the voiceover (which is obviously fraudulent), so that should calm down any immediate storm.

Overall, we're still looking VERY strong going in to tomorrow. If Republicans turn out like they have in previous elections on election day, we will be taking the W tomorrow.

Hopefully it happened so late in the race that it won't do much damage. If he wins then I'll be happy, if he loses by a large amount then I don't think it would be this, if he loses by a percent or so then yeah, I think it may be the thing that did him in.

24 hours or so from now, I guess we'll know.

I did some digging on the Ben Mathis that is mentioned by Martin Avila.

I found this article:

http://www.allbusiness.com/media-telecommunications/movies-sound-recording/5456275-1.html

"Hosted by producer-politico Ben Mathis at Los Angeles' elegant L'Orangerie Restaurant, the Mathis Entertainment party is expected to draw the likes of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a host of Senators including George Allen, Norm Coleman and Barbara Boxer. The star guest list includes the politically active and those "who play them on TV". With Jon Stewart hosting this year's Awards Ceremony, it's no surprise that even the parties are taking a decidedly smarter turn. "

This guy is a huge Republican donor:
