We have a Congress filled with extraordinary people. Extraordinarily stupid, yes, but courageous, too — politicians worth (believe it or not) celebrating as we approach this year's midterm elections. We'll start with them.

Ron Paul (R-Texas)

It would be hard to argue that any single member of the House has a larger influence outside the institution of Congress — or displays a greater fidelity to his stated principles — than Ron Paul of Texas

But he held firm to his core of the purest libertarianism in the Congress, and it has taken exploding debt, many foreign entanglements, a pointless drug war, government invasions of privacy, and out-of-control Pentagon budgets and entitlements for the rest of the country to finally catch up to Ron Paul.

Great write up indeed. Everything is starting to come together for his 2012 run.

Nice write-up, but they also had Barney Frank --- um what?

Is this like a VH1 countdown of the top 100 whatever from the 80s type thing? In any event, it's nice to see Ron get some due credit.

Flake made the list too.

I'm glad they brought some attention to Ron Paul, but that list is total crap aside from Jeff Flake. I might have taken this list more seriously were it not for Judd Gregg being #2 on it.

I would have liked to see Walter Jones on it.

Their 10 worst is spot on at times (Liberman is the #1 worst!) and totally off as to others (Bachmann is listed ).

I disagree with barney frank most of the time but at least he is an intelligent, well spoken and somewhat principled liberal. He stands with Ron on a lot of issues and the two of them are friends (there is even an anecdote floating around saying that Ron told Barney that the only time he may have any influence on a house committee is if barney is chairing it, because his own party shut down a committee when Ron was about to assume the chair.) If all of the opposition were like him, it wouldn't be as bad as it is now. Plus he can be quite funny...

I also am glad they put Lieberman up there as one of the worst members...i hate him as my senator.

If they have Bachman and Kyl on the list , that just means there are over a couple hundred they have not met yet .

Notice their usage of "Tea Party crazywagon", "lunatic Tea Partiers" for the republicans on their worst list. A bit of bias on their part...
