Those people at the Values Voters summit just witnessed history and they don't even know it. That was by far, Ron's best speech to date. This is going to be the turning point. You could just hear the people switching over.

That speech gave me chills it was so good.

Wow, really? It was one of his worst, for me.

You have got to be kidding me? I bet you if it was the same speech but in front of an RP friendly crowd you'd think differently.

No, actually, I wouldn't. It wasn't delivered well at all. The MESSAGE is always great, but the delivery at times leaves much to be desired.

I agree Dr.no. He has done much better in the past.

Ok, I tell you what... we both watch it again and see if we change our minds.

I agree 100% that it was a great speech! Congressman Paul's message of freedom, personal responsibility, and less government resonated with the majority of the crowd and the majority of the people on here. Those who think otherwise might not like the idea of liberty and probably want the government to take care of them from cradle to grave. Ron Paul!

It was a FANTASTIC speech!

It needs to be YOUTUBED ASAP and spread to all the Christian people around the nation!

I think his point was that this speech was aimed more toward bringing people over to his side.

This is like a Miller Lite commercial: MESSAGE'S GREAT!... BETTER DELIVERY!

Oh God, please. You really have drunk the Ron Paul kool-aid. You're accusing people with impeccable pro-freedom credentials of being socialists because they thought RP's speech could have been much better? Lord.

I think RP's lack of polish, but strong message is kind of endearing and indicates a sincere trustfulness. There are some who speak and sound great but they sound slick (Bill Clinton). There are some who speak, sound lackluster but are principled (Ron Paul). Very rarely you will find those who speak eloquently and are principled. I know I may catch some heat here, but I think Huckabee is a sincere speaker and has character.

However, Ron Paul's message is what got me, not his delivery.

Congressman Paul is not the greatest speaker in the world. But I'd rather have him than some of the other candidates in the race who are better speakers. Ron Paul is our representative for freedom and liberty so we have to accept some of his flaws. I have and I am behind him 100%. My comment was more directed towards the crowd of neo-cons who couldn't stop clapping for that war monger, Duncan Hunter. His delivery is not always the best, but the message is and that's what really mattered here!

not his best speech in my opinion. It wasn't as fluid as I have heard him before.
I think he should have talked more about Just War theory and how it applies to Christianity.

I think what we have to realize is that Dr. Paul's speechs probably look and sound different for someone who has never heard him before.

We know so much about Dr. Paul and his stances that while listening to him we probably draw expectations in our head about what direction he will head and what he will say.

Then, when we hear a new speech he may not go in the directions that we draw in our own mind and he may talk about things in a different order than we expect.

While it may appear "rambling" or whatever to us (I haven't heard this speech but I have heard similar comments before on other speechs), I highly doubt it appears that way to someone just hearing him for the first time.

Besides, people fade in and out of attention anyways as they ponder what Dr. Paul is saying (because he is actually saying something that requires thought). Therefore it is not necessary to have a fully fluid speech and it becomes more necessary to have points of impact fade in and out (appears as though "rambling").

Just my thoughts...

I agree 100%. As far as Huckabee, I think has a lot of practice in the pulpit on message delivery so his speeches have that "sermon-like" rise & flow.

I agree too. I have heard that same Duncan Hunter speech a hundred times. Ron Paul sounds more creditable and unrehearsed when giving speeches. He makes the listener think about his talking points instead of just shout them out for applause.
