We will upgrade the forum software after the election.

The new server we are now running on should be able to handle a much higher amount of traffic and it's $30 bucks cheaper a month.

I'm sorry about the downtime. I used a third party rather than attempting to do the work myself but even my hired gun hit a number of walls. My host caused a number of problems as well, but was able to finally get a hold of one of their top guys and got it taken care of. It should have been a 6 to 12 hour job but stuff happens.

Anyways, we should be relatively stable on this new and more capable server.

Please let me know if you run into any problems.

Thank you for your patience!

Will those with upgraded accounts get a pro-rated refund in the amount of 16.4 cents for the unanticipated downtime?

We should be relatively stable? Improving our mental health is a bit much to ask of a new server isn't it ?

hehe

Thank God... don't ever do that again!! Massive withdrawal.

Actually, I hope you need to upgrade again when Ron Paul declares. That'd definitely be worth it. And it does seem to be running a lot faster now.

I may not post here a whole lot compared to a lot of people, but I read it every day.

I imagine people will figure it out, but you may want to send a mass mail letting people know it's back up... kind of an important weekend here.

Check the fine print on the bottom of page 23 of your Service Level Agreement.

I was dying without my news here! All my family and friends with less internet savvy (ie. that don't have RPF's bookmarked) kept calling me for the latest news on Rand's race...

I LIVE in Kentucky but I had to tell them I had no idea since the server was down....

Ohhh, I dunno, I think I was referring to him kicking ass for the general theme of starting and maintaining the site for so long. I know there was a lot of joking about the downtime, but I felt bad for the stress and frustration he was under and the impatience of everyone. Thought he deserved a nice word :)
