Coulter and Beck both like Paul to a degree.

It helps to keep people like that on our side for stuff like this.

Pence might quit GOP leadership to run for president

Hotair: Pence may run/ (http://hotair.com/archives/2010/10/26/here-we-go-pence-might-quit-gop-leadership-in-order-to-run-for-president/)

House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) is considering stepping down from his post in the GOP leadership in preparation for a possible bid for president or governor in 2012.

Pence, a darling of the conservative movement, would leave the leadership job with a blunt explanation to colleagues that he can’t commit to a two-year term in House leadership, a source familiar with his deliberations told POLITICO Tuesday.

Pence believes it would be inappropriate to stay at the GOP conference post – the no. 3 spot in the House Republican hierarchy – unless he could stay through 2012, the source said. Pence also believes that he can be a more effective conservative voice if he is free of the responsibilities that he would have in leadership of a House Republican majority…

Still, Pence faces hurdles in any endeavor — statewide or nationwide. Should he dip his toe in the presidential waters, he’d face questions about his fiscal conservatism. Although he staked out ground as a fiscal hawk over the past few years, he took earmarks until 2008. Furthermore, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is another strong contender in the 2012 presidential race, in which case Pence would be under pressure not to get in.

Should we be making an effort to attend? Do couples purchase 1 or 2 passes (I would assume 2, I didn't see anything about couples)? What type of pass will allow you to vote in the straw poll? Their straw poll will happen just as the election year starts to pick up, so... it might be something to look into.

Idk, isn't Campaign for Liberty going to be selling tix at a reduced price?

That would be interesting, because discounts are always good. But if CFL is doing that, I wonder when they'd start? Don't want to wait until they're sold out.

Remember they always wait until the very last moment to invite Paul that way it's difficult to organize in time.

Then why don't we just assume they're going to in the end invite him, and organize now?

This could be an important milestone in a 2012 run. I don't think we should underestimate it this go-around.

Now everyone make plans to attend, at least to vote in the Straw Poll.

The Straw Poll is a must-win.

Should we start a fund to help with transportation and tickets? It's a pretty good bet I won't be able to make it. Wow! Students just $35. YAL could buy a lot of them up. Last year, they and C4L had tables and lots of positive interactions.

I mean, it depends on how long you want to be there. The straw poll runs most of the weekend, but I highly recommend finding a place to stay and attending the events. C4L and YAL usually rent a house. I found a place the last 2 years for about 60-90$ for the entire weekend. Not a 4 star hotel, but it is a place to sleep. If I were you, I would contact Allison Gibbs with C4L and ask her about the deals the C4L has. She will give you the most up to date information.

Hope this helps some, any other questions, let me know.

Think about how important this is, folks. This is in FEBRUARY, so THIS is the year to make a difference. By Feb. 2012, most of the early primaries will be over.

Every single person interested in liberty needs to consider attending... and also prepare for the SRLC this time too. Talking to a bunch of people in my county considering going...

CPAC 2011 to Feature Rep. Ron Paul (http://www.conservative.org/2010/11/08/6635/)

Conservative.org
Nov. 8, 2010

The Conservative Political Action Conference (http://www.conservative.org/cpac/) (CPAC), a project of the American Conservative Union Foundation, is pleased that Texas Congressman Ron Paul will address the conference on Friday, February 11 at 3:30 p.m.

ACU and CPAC Chairman David A. Keene said, “Ron Paul’s presidential campaign in 2008 may not have garnered him as many convention delegates to that year’s GOP convention as some others, but through that campaign, he energized millions of young people and planted the seed of the Tea Party movement.”

CPAC 2011 will be held February 10-12 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington D.C. It is the nation’s largest annual gathering of conservative activists, policymakers and students. In addition to speakers and panels, CPAC will feature book signings by the nation’s leading conservative authors, live broadcasts of national and local radio talk shows, hands-on training sessions from grassroots activism to media strategy, and much, much more!

Right

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) is a quadrennial political event held in the Southern United States two years before each presidential election. The event is attended by Republican Party activists, elected officials, and candidates for office.
The SRLC has featured every major Republican presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan, and is best known for its presidential straw poll, which receives national media attention.
