So here's the skinny, for those not following the race:
A few weeks ago, BJ's campaign put out a poll showing him with an ever-so-slight lead over David Price. Since then, both his campaign, and the Democrats have run a known total of 3 polls. Despite this, not a single poll number has been released by them, and Price has gone straight to the attack ads.
Aside from that, Republican turnout has been HUGE so far. As of the end of last week, Republicans district-wide were down by a negligible amount. Considering that at this time last election, Republicans were outnumbered 3:1, I'd say that we're doing pretty damn well. A large part of that is turning out low propensity Republican voters. That is where you all come in.
I know that many people are simply tapped from moneybomb after moneybomb. Although BJ hasn't raised as much as last year, we should be good on funds, as every last penny has been squeezed. What we do need is people to call what basically amounts to apathetic Republican voters, and get them to vote early. Just go to http://www.lawsonforcongress.com/call-republicans-in-your-precinct, fill it out, and we'll get you all the information you need. Normally a list is no more than 100 houses, and we ask that you complete it within 48 hours (at which point we'll update the list, and have someone else bug them until they vote :p). I know 100 may sound like a lot, but I'd guess around 80% are voicemails that are left in under a minute. If you can dedicated maybe 45 minutes a day for 2 days in a row, you alone could help turn out many more voters.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help out if at all possible. It is the easiest type of calling that there is...just reminding people to vote. I won't pretend like this is going to be some landslide victory, but we ARE going to win, and it won't be by much. We already got video of David Price literally bussing in voters from downtown Durham. He is running scared, and we need you all to help capitalize on this opportunity.
