View Full Version : Shutting the forums down for a server upgrade tonight!

Change of plans. We are upgrading the server tonight. Software upgrade will be tomorrow after we are sure of all backups.

The site will be unavailable for some time. There may be some hiccups along the way, but we should be running on all cylinders before the big election night.

We are getting a beefier server as well and I am hoping that we can move over to that one within 72 hours. If we end up moving servers tonight, then RPF may be down for a little bit longer as the domain name can take time to propagate across the net.

Just a heads up. :)

Edit: To clarify, the website downtime should be less than 10 hours. We're not having a 3 day blackout.

Sure, the push-button "insta-win" feature will be extremely useful for all of our liberty candidates :D

Another board I was on had a backup forum that was bare bones and completely separate (ie: immune from yahoo w/ backhoe incidents) from the primary forum and used as a rally point, get together spot whenever the main board went down... Worked really well. Something like a yahoo or google group would do...

Just a thought...

RedStateEclectic.com has forums that aren't used. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if anybody wants to hang out over there.

During the primaries, we used to all meet here: http://www.ronpaulforum.com/ when the main forum went down.

And there's always The Daily Paul, I suppose.

During the primaries, we used to all meet here: http://www.ronpaulforum.com/ when the main forum went down.I'd actually like to have Bryan set up a message board that he controls for backup. I don't know who owns that site and have some questions about it.

One, I would trust you sending you guys to Bryan's site.

Two, if something happened to me and/or this site, you'd have a safe home.
