And then I looked up their congressional scorecard (http://action.aclu.org/site/VoteCenter?page=congScorecard). Most of the things they scored last year restrict personal liberty.

The ACLU is an organization that doesn't even believe in the 2nd amendment. They've never been an organization that supports civil liberties.

Wow, I didn't know the ACLU supports Hate Crimes laws. That would seem to contradict their supposed advocacy for free speech and expression.

They're also supportive of gov't-sponsored race-based employment policies and even advocated against 2 anti-affirmative action propositions, one in CA & MI, which were passed overwhelmingly by over 50% of the voters in those two states years ago.
