Naaa CIA HQ is in Langley VA. There are some gov't offices in Reston though. An old acquaintance (who has always worked gov't TSI IT stuff) works at one of them and can't tell me who he works for or what he does. IIRC, NSA and DIA has a large Reston VA presence though. I can't imagine "reston5" meaning anything else but Reston VA.

There's really only two questions. What is Project BO and Reston5? Someone mentioned images. It's very true. You can encode short messages inside image files. They have to be short because they will enlarge the image file and attract attention. We very easily pass short encoded messages to liberty lovers through pictures and probably any other file. I'm keen to start my own email server at home and encode as much of my communications as I can.

Skype used to encode everything. I don't think it does anymore.

I've been trying to visit the site for the last 4 days and that's all I've gotten.

Is the government attacking the wikileaks website or what? It seems like this is overdue if they are.

Even if they don't have his birth records they should say they do. I wonder if that would make him squirm. I'm not a birther but if it turns out he's foreign that issue will turn this country upside down and if he reacts to the notion WL has secured those documents he will either react or not. Just curious.

Just a thought, or 2.
has anyone tried "Reston5" as the key to the insurance file?
and
Who posted that message on Twitter?, or is it just BS?

Watching to see what develops.

One of the employees must have some really, really bad BO to call it an attack and think it necessary to switch to a hosting server in another location.

Trying to connect from another country, via TOR or directly to their IP addy might bring up their site. This (what we are seeing) could be hosted on a US GVMT web page thanks to a US blacklist and DNS tampering.

Or they could legitimatly be doing a site and security makeover due to being increasingly hacked by the US Gvmt...

The insurance file could be the Iraq documents leak itself. In which case they put it in the hands of several ppl so the feds couldn't shut it down.

And yes, it would be really funny if "Reston5" was the encryption key.

So we invaded iraq to "stop the tyrannical oppressive and torture-loving Saddam government" so that we could..........reinstate it?

Of course i knew this, but as this info is starting to trickle out, I am getting a really disgusted feeling in my stomach.

From the New York Times article:

WikiLeaks has been under strong pressure from the United States and the governments of other countries but is also fraying internally, in part because of a decision to post many of the Afghan documents without removing the names of informants, putting their lives in danger. A profile of WikiLeaks’s contentious founder, Julian Assange, will appear in Sunday’s newspaper.

Why did WikiLeaks fail to remove the names of the informants?

Why did WikiLeaks fail to remove the names of the informants?

They did remove them. also approached the the DoD, though not directly and asked for assistance redacting the documents - help that was not forthcoming.

The NYT's is lying. They are a bought and paid for propaganda engine.

From the New York Times article:

Why did WikiLeaks fail to remove the names of the informants?

Does it make any difference.
Does it change the fact that there are Hit squads murdering innocent people?
Does it change the fact that our government is lying and covering up War Crimes?

Have any of those named been targeted?

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2010/08/20/wikileaks

"When the controversy first arose over the lack of redactions in the war documents released by WikiLeaks, the website insisted that, using the New York Times as an intermediary, it had asked the Obama administration for help in removing names of Afghans before releasing the documents, a claim the Pentagon vehemently denied. The New York Times, needless to say, sided with the Government -- that's what the NYT does -- but they did so by simultaneously confirming the truth of WikiLeaks' version of events."

The rest of the article is at the link which was updated several times following its initial writing. The government lies incessantly.

You have more faith than I. I see msm portraying this as yet another assault on the dignity of the honorable by a bunch internet pirates. News brief I heard on the radio regarding this issue was calling wiki leaks a terrorist organization.
