Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Alexander Snitker picked up some support from another unlikely source this week.

Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida (RLCFL) Chairman William Pitts has stated publicly that he will be voting for Snitker instead of GOP nominee Marco Rubio. ”I am without hesitation voting for Alex Snitker for US Senate,” said Pitts in a post on the RLCFL’s Yahoo Groups page.
Pitts defended his position by saying that Snitker represents the values of the Republican Liberty Caucus, and that Rubio’s voting record is inconsistent with the RLC’s principles. Judging from responses to Pitts’ post, support among members is split between Rubio and Snitker. Pitts’ comments sparked a lively debate within the group, and several members took the opportunity to join him in voicing their support for Snitker, while others chastised him for the defection. Pitts may have sealed his fate within the RLC, as some members are now calling for his resignation.
This marks the second high-profile Republican to defect to the Snitker camp in the past month. Respected GOP advisor and media personality Chris Ingram recently endorsed the underdog Libertarian. Ingram first broke the story about Rubio using RPOF funds to pay for hardwood flooring in his home.

Is this guy really a GOP leader? What position does he hold?

I was under the impression that the RLC was pretty much shunned by the Florida GOP.

I would say he is more of a "liberty" leader than a "GOP" leader.

Yes, the RLC has been shunned by the RPOF. However, our numbers and influence in the GOP continues to grow. They almost have to respect us now. :D

Yup they were. The RLC is Ron Paul supporters. I haven't followed the latest RLC news though since the Greer ousting.
