Northrop CEO defends US military spending

Shocking!

Where will the next surprise revelation come from- the auto makers supporting "Cash for Clunkers" or maybe Welfare Mothers supporting AFDC?

In a related story, Obama announced on a nationally televised press conference today that the US will start a tradition of having a "Shock & Awe" fireworks display on an annual basis and hosted in a different country each year. The initial display (actually the second, as Iraq was the first) is planned to be held in Iran or N. Korea.

Not to be outdone, Russia and China have promised to reciprocate in kind in the US when their countries are given the privilege of hosting the event. To make this an experience not to be missed, Israel has offered to put on smaller shows all over the middle east in a showing of international co-operation when the really spectacular fireworks light up the sky.

An unnamed CEO of a arms manufacturer summed up his pleasure with Obama's statement by commenting that "It's not war, it's entertainment!"
