Not only are Paladino/Cuomo going to be there, but heroin-legalizing libertarian hero Warren Redlich, a Black Panther who supports abolishing the MTA and instituting Slavery Reparation, a NY Madam, a bunch of other just totally out-of-left-field candidates.

Each will get equal time to talk.

Let the circus begin!

P.S. I have no idea what time it is to be televised.

Looks like it starts at 7pm EST, but C-SPAN doesn't have it listed. They do, however have a blank spot in their C-SPAN2 schedule, so maybe...

The local TV station does look like they will streem it live:

http://www.wktv.com/news/new-york-state/Gubernatorial-Debate-Watch-Party-to-be-held-at-SUNYIT---105187854.html

Besides the Democrat, current State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and the Republican candidate Carl Paladino, several other well known parties are represented.

They include Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins, Libertarian Party candidate Warren Redlich, and Charles Barron from the Freedom Party.

The two other candidates are from relatively unknown parties. Kristen Davis, the former madam who set up former Governor Eliot Spitzer with call girls who is running under the Anti-Prohibition Party. She wants to legalize marijuana.

Jimmy McMillan is running for The Rent is Too Damn High Party.

So we have so far;

Paladino - Republican
McMillan - Rent is Too Damn High
Cuomo - Democrat
Barron - Freedom Party (pissed off that there isn't a Latino or Asian Moderator) -- for higher taxes; Black Panther
Hawkins - Green Party
Davis - Anti-Prohibition Party (the Madam) pro-Pot, Pro-Casinos
Redlich - Libertarian Party

I don't think I would. I say no state income tax, but let the local governments do as they please.

It's really amazing to see how much some of these people have it out to tax the rich people.

All the stuff that these people have in NY, are the result of the rich's tax money. If you squeeze them more, they will simply leave.

anyone notice the "freedom party"(sic) candidate's Chairman Mao style garb?

If I had to vote in this election, I'd be really torn between the Repub, the Libertarian and the Madam. They are all good!

Yeah - tax the shit out of the rich, undermine their revenues and then demand that they build a whole new industrial infrastructure for you! - Like that's going to happen...

The rent is too high guy does have a good basic point. I was offered a job once for 6 mo in NYC and advised to take daily commuter flights and keeping my place here instead of renting an apartment there as it was much cheaper and I could pocket a lot of my per-Diem.

I didn't take it.

The Madam had a great one! - I'm the only one with work experience dealing with whores, like the ones in Albany...

My picks:
1st place: The Libertarian (and it was really a close tie with second)
2ne place: The Madam
3rd place: the Repub (talks a good talk, but it looks like he's bought and paid for)

All the rest - don't vote - they are all horrid!

What are other ppl's picks?

I like the Libertarian, however what threw me off is that I felt that he was reading off of cards and not really saying what's on his mind.

Oh, what do I care. Not my state; and most likely New Yorkers are going to vote for Cuomo anyway.

We really need to get rid of the two party system, if only to get more interesting debates.

Redlich takes notes on what the other speakers say. He refered to notes after finishing a point to make full use of the limited time.

WCBS-TV local news in NYC, that tends to bash Paladino while giving the other nut, Cuomo a pass just ran a spot for the 11pm newscast about the debate. It was something to effect of the debate candidates being a joke. They led off with Redlich's comment that went something to the effect of "no administrator left behind".

I knew the extreme leftist media here in NY would lump him in with the kooks. The reality is he is the only normal candidate in the debate.

ynn.com will have the debate up. I watched the live stream.

The Libertarian, Redlich, worked to get Ron Paul on the ballot in 2008. Every NY Resident on the forum should vote for him.
