I ran across this website called SmartRaise that allows you to register a group and for people to shop there through name brand stores (Sears, Circuit City, Staples, Target, newegg.com, ...) and have a percentage (anywhere from 1-10%) of their purchases go to the group - in this case a Ron Paul support group.

"SmartRaise is a shopping rewards program where everybody wins! Groups raise money whenever their supporters make purchases through our network of leading online merchants. Supporters pay the exact same prices they always would (or even less thanks to our many discount programs) and automatically help their favorite causes fundraise whenever they shop online."

This could be fantastic for raising money for Unofficial TV/Radio spots, buying materials for your Meetup group, etc. Or you could raise money for yourself to give it to Ron Paul if you haven't maxed out your $2300 donation limit yet. I've set up my own SmartRaise page with the goal of getting $2300 in donations, let's see how it goes!

Bump.

Wow tons of posters on this forum. Just want to keep this on the front page for a little while and see if it gets any attention - it's really a great idea!

I signed up. Buy stuff for work through that account - it doesn't cost any more and 2-10% on large purchases can add up!

You can also do so on your own, through similar sites like fatwallet.com or jellyfish.com (and others, I am sure). But doing it together though a group is kinda motivating...

Do the number of registered supporters get you anything?
Or is it just a tally and only a percentage of what they
purchase goes to the cause?

You could just do what Hill is doing and for those that are maxed out help out some dishwashers living in poverty in Chinatown to donate. I love the article on Drudge this morning where they try and make it sound like these are legit donations saying the Hill has the ability to bring hope to the hopeless or something like that.
