The Pill has been pushed as harmless and "the most tested pill of all time" by doctors for many years. I've never been convinced. It's not that I think there's some nefarious plot associated with birth control pills, but rather that girls are being prescribed the things when they are incredibly young, and the pills do have an effect on hormones and physiology (or else they wouldn't really work like they do). If you haven't finished puberty, and you're popping pills like they're candy, they're going to have an effect. Couple that with all the chemicals we're exposed to in everyday life (food, air, water, etc.) and there's going to be an effect or twenty.

What's sad is that people would be shocked that ingesting a steady stream of pills since being a teen would affect brain development.
