in Ron Paul Republicans
Despite being a consistent Ron Paul fan since the 80's, I thought I hit a new high a couple of years ago. I got to meet Mike Nystrom of the Daily Paul and was honored to represent Massachusetts at the 2008 RNC, as a Ron Pauler. I am now faced with the reality that we're on the verge of another major high and undeniable win for Liberty.

I was so glad to see all the core RP'ers continue the fight for freedom and liberty without breaking stride. I was no different. In a case of not seeing the trees through the forest, a man from my home town arose as one of the key organizers of the 9/12 Project in Massachusetts. I watched as he took his civic zeal to DC where he was arrested for shouting "Kill the Bill!" during the ObamaCare debate. Predictably he insisted on defending himself and returned home with the fire of liberty burning n his belly. He said the highlight of his trip was getting to sitting at Congressman Paul's desk.

Bill Gunn, after a couple of uncharacteristic days of silence, made the announcement that he was making a run for US Representative. His incumbent opponent is none other than John Olver. Olver hails from the college town of Amherst where they fly the UN flag in front of city hall. You'll also see John Olver's name on the roster of the "Progressive Caucus", which is a creation of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Like smacking a bee hive with a stick, volunteers swarmed to all parts of the first district gathering signatures to get Bill on the ballot. In little over three weeks, an unknown number of grassroots volunteers gathered so many signatures that state officials stopped certifying at 4,263. This was done 100% by angry voters. The GOP, as of the moment of this post, has offered no support or interest in Bill's campaign. There's no surprise here because Bill's message is a threat to most of them too. Here's why:

* Supports Audit the Fed
* Defund / eliminate Dept. of Education
* Defund / eliminate Dept. of Energy
* Defund / eliminate Dept. of Agriculture
* Supports parental rights
* Return power of war to Congress
* Return power to coin money to Congress
* Supports states rights
* Repeal ObamaCare
* Supports truly Free Markets
* Abortion & Marriage are not federal issues
* Recognizes "Climate Change" as geo-pokitical tool

Building on the success we had when we held seven Citizen's Town Hall Meetings, prior to the ObamaCare vote, Bill has hosted over 20 Town Hall meetings with unprecedented conversion ratios. The most recent poll put Bill within 10 points of Olver and the Primary numbers were even more encouraging. Between 20-50% of Democrats that pulled a democratic ballot voted in various other races, but DIDN'T VOTE FOR OLVER!

Here's the problem. Olver thugs are freaking out because the entire first district (about half the area of Massachusetts) is covered with Bill Gunn signs. People that see / hear him end up supporters and the Olver-bots are doing everything to minimize Bill's exposure. The teacher & labor Unions will surely try to smear him. Since we have successfully turned all their attacks to our advantage, this may backfire too. The deciding factor will be if we can get Bill's message out in a timely manner. Here's what we need.

* Bloggers - We've been keeping up with relevant blog activity (good & bad), but we really need to light up the internet with and overwhelming support for Bill Gunn and a clear message of disgust towards John Olver's unresponsive big government ways. At this point we know all Republicans will vote to Bill, many Independents that hear his message will vote for Bill and disgruntle fiscal Democrats are willing to withhold their vote for Olver. Hit pieces must be squashed fast and hard!

* Phone Bankers - Calling lists will be carefully arranged and assigned so as to eliminate the repeat bombardment that occurred during the Brown election.

* Commercial Blitz - The Olver campaign is convinced that Bill's campaign will not have the money to roll out local TV commercials during the final weeks of the campaign. The team has a series of web and TV commercials that are nearly ready to go, but we need additional ad money for the relevant network slots. Since the commercials are almost done, MONEY is the limiting factor here. We need a flurry of last minute donations to come in, at the national level.

Please consider turning your attention and support to this worthy candidate. You can get more information, volunteer or donate and www.billgunnforcongress.com We must stand ready to send patriots like this to DC to help congressman Ron Paul! Join us here in Massachusetts as we shake the establishment to its core.

This guys positions here are exactly in tune with mine, and a lot here. I hope he wins. Especially over a socialist scumbag.

I wish though he would add abolish the FED to that list. Maybe after the audit or our upcoming inflationary nightmare.

MA1 is probably the most heavily Democratic rural district in the country. I like Gunn, but he has no chance of winning.

Here's the 2010 special election results. MA-1 basically covers the entire blue area in western MA.

Did you not read the part where he said "the most recent poll has him within 10 points"?

It all depends on what kind of poll that was.

I'm curious what kind of poll it is. If it is an internal, don't even bother reading to far into his chances.
