"The average American doesn't realize how much of the laws are written by lobbyists" to protect incumbent interests, Google CEO Eric Schmidt told Atlantic editor James Bennet at the Washington Ideas Forum. "It's shocking how the system actually works."

In a wide-ranging interview that spanned human nature, the future of machines, and how Google could have helped the stimulus, Schmidt said technology could "completely change the way government works."

"Washington is an incumbent protection machine," Schmidt said. "Technology is fundamentally disruptive." Mobile phones and personal technology, for example, could be used to record the bills that members of Congress actually read and then determine what stimulus funds were successfully spent.

Notice that this directly contradicts the utopian claims in your other post (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=262861). Are you schizophrenic? Will the real FrankRep please stand up? ;) lolz

Take that into consideration with the comment from their CEO in my signature quote..... Just think about how much blackmail power google has now or is building up on our politicians.

The Government is corrupt and using abusive powers not authorized by the Constitution. We need Constitutionalists like Ron Paul in office.

Your statement is nonsense.

Beware of the oxymoron "efficient government".

Government's current example of embracing the internet: www.usa.gov

Make notice of their logo "Government made easy" and prominent links on the page such as "find government grants", "Your TSA", "Alternative Fuel Locator", "Recipes for healthy kids", "Fall foliage hotspots", etc...

I'm so glad that my government has a link (and a "toll free" hotline) to tell me where to go to see leaves changing colors.

Perhaps you didn't read what you posted. I'll explain. In the other thread, you (or the author) claimed that the Constitution is "matchless", ascribing it some sort of mystical powers. Here, the author claims that it is lobbies who "write the laws". If that is the case, the first claim is meaningless.

Again, your statement is nonsense. The Constitution is only as powerful as the people like Ron Paul and the American Constitutionalists who defend it. No one claimed the Constitution has magical powers. It's a powerful idea written on paper.

Why must you keep attacking the Constitution and the Constitutionalists like Ron Paul?
