As many of you are aware, I've been trying for several days to get this thing going. The campaign needs cash and so do it's supporters. I'm one of them. I can do a fairly comprehensive campaign right here in NE Ct. but I need your help.
Read the goal and the updated goal to see what I want to do.
I'm off to contact all the Ct. groups now to try and get help from there.

Good Morning Bob,

Thanks again for your interest in purchasing the 30-sheet poster located on Route 12 north of Main Street in North Groverdale for the upcoming primary. I just spoke with Standish Johnson Company and it is available for December and or January. The rate is $775 per month whether you contract it for 1 or 2 months. Based on the fact that the election is on 2/5, I would suggest that you buy it on 12/5 or 1/5 --that way you are assured it would be up thru the voting time.

The unit offers 10'5" x 22'8" of copy area. It is a non-illuminated panel.

In addition to the space cost, there is also a cost to have the posters printed that are glued up..for a 1 or 2 month program, we need 2 posters..each one is $185 plus tax and shipping. Your office would give us the disc with camera ready art and we take it from there.

The space cost and production must be paid in advance before we print and post the board--this is standard procedure with all political campaigns. Also, it is necessary for the copy to have the tag line on it that the ad is paid for by the Committee to Elect Ron Paul..and the treasure name on it.

Does anyone, besides me, think this is worthwhile?

Yes, Sematary, but the same people are getting hit up to fund everything. Somehow, we're going to have to reach out to a lot more people for some of these things. I'm not sure how we do that, since we still don't have a mechanism to contact all the meetup groups easily.

I sent out stuff to all the Ct. meetups I could find this morning. Hopefully, that will help.
And I know it's the same people. There is a reason for that - WE - meaning the people on this forum, seem to be the MOST active people in the country.

Bob Larkin,
I have attached a copy of our rates and a map of our coverage. A 4
column by 4 inch ad would cost$560.00 to go into all of publications.
T^o go onto only one newspaper, it would cost$117.00. Please contact
me with any questions.

A quick review:
Total cost for Billboard: $1860 (two months)
Total cost for Newspaper ad (twice) $1120 (will reach hundreds of thousands in over a dozen communities)
Total cost for radio ad: Let's say 40 spots over an 8 week period - 5 per week (one per daytime drive) - about $1000

Total (not including canvassing costs) = $4020
With canvassing costs: $5000

I'm a LONG ways away but it can be done and would be VERY effective and cost efficient.

Your work is appreciated. I've been around long enough to know you're good "boots on the ground". Thanks again

Well, I can finally get working on the opening phase of this project. I bought some dvd's and will begin with that, then I'm going to start printing material. I will use the statement of faith when I get to homes of older people but will leave it out with younger voters. :)

Has anyone considered contacting maxed out donors specifically to see if they have another $100 or $200 for chipins?

I think the FEC gives names but not email addresses and phone numbers or even exact addresses, so how would you do that?

I think you might have better luck if you'd pick a project, such as a radio ad, or whatever you want to do most, first, create it and then ask for money to help fund running it.

I'm doing a complete campaign - if I can.
This is based on the information I got from Anita Andrews. Three different mediums within a certain time frame before the primaries. The radio ad will reach "some" people. The billboard will reach "some" people but all of it together ads up to votes.

Sounds good. I'm just saying that people usually are much more generous at donating, if they SEE what they're donating towards. You know, let them hear the radio ad. Let them see what you want to put up for a billboard and show them the location.

Call it persistence. Call it masochistic. Call it whatever you will. But I'm still trying. ;)
