In 2007 Ron announced his exploratory committee on January 11th. He announced his official candidacy on March 12th.

And if he announces an exploratory committee in Jan what better way to show that committee that we want him to run than a $3,000,000 money bomb :D

Interestingly enough, Iowa City was the other place where Ron won in IA in 2008.

No. From what I had read on several threads here back in early 2008 (right after the IA caucus), he won in Iowa City, but lost overall in surrounding Johnson county (I have not seen this reported elsewhere, but imagine you can confirm this with some effort in searching). Iowa City is another place with a demographic that is unusual for IA, it is generally considered the most liberal or libertarian (depends on who you ask) place in the entire state. IMU is on the campus of the University Of Iowa, which is in Iowa City, so this is an area of strong support (which was the point of my post). When I saw Ron speak there in 2007, it was quite surreal to see punks with mohawks standing beside and cheering along with fratboy types!

Mods: feel free to split my post up into paragraphs if you do not like my writing style

How many in Iowa leadership do we have?

JeremyDahl
10-14-2010, 07:03 PM
4-5 out of 19 of the republican state central committee

5-6 state legislators

but there are a few that will come around to professional pressure

edit: with the condition that the nation and the state is in... this election will probably double our number in the general assembly...

but most of them are afraid to voice support due to extremism freaking out their constituency

How many total of legislators?

How many total of legislators?

there are 100 in the house
50 in the senate

again, it is hard to know how they all lean.

I only know the most adamant. But the voting record of a few are obvious.
