On to the issue of appealing to hopes instead of fear, I was listening to NPR on my way home to class and the guy who ran Obama's 2008 campaign was the guest, and beyond stating the Dems are better for the middle class, everything else he said was pretty much appealing to fear that the Republicans were worse.

Vote for us, imagine what would happen if they got back in power!
