Right now they're petitioning to end the income tax on the Massachusetts ballot (they need 100,000 signatures, they have half of them so far, so if you live in the state, make sure you sign the petition). The last time they had this on the ballot, the polls said only 25-35% of voters would vote for it, when in fact 45% voted to end the state income tax.

Hypothetically- if Massuchusetts ends their state income tax, and Ron ends the federal income tax, how amazing would that be?!? That would make an amazing example for the rest of the nation to end their respective state income taxes. Florida doesn't have an income tax, something I appreciate dearly, but over 40 states do. Talk about reforming the nation- this thought really gets me excited.

New Hampshire doesn't have one, and neither does Texas. I could see it happening. Although, if Ron Paul downsizes the federal government, taxes are likely to increase on the state and local level to replace services.

already voted to drop it from 5.3 to 5 yet the legislature will not do it. Massachusetts is "giant sucking sound state", coming right out of your wallets. We need 9 supervisors to dig a ditch here and a cop at every construction area waving a flag on overtime. Its going bankrupt so the Governor wants casino's to keep the shell game going.

Sounds like my state, Illinois. They are wanting to raise 25billion dollars through the casino industry.
