On Sunday, a group of Tennessee preachers will step into the pulpit and say the only words they're forbidden by law from speaking in a church.

They will be among 100 pastors nationwide using the pulpit as a platform for political endorsements, flouting a federal law that threatens churches with the loss of their nonprofit status if they stray too far into partisan politics.

whatever works for you

free speech issues and while in a church

those people are there of their free will so why couldn't you preach whatever it is that you want at them. I think the bible itself is laughable personally but if someone wants to read it more power to them BUT to try and deny a church the ability to talk about ANYTHING should be far beyond the governments reach.

This is what I want to see!

Pastors need that revolutionary spirit again. Sadly, Statism has seeped into Evangelicalism. We need patriot-preachers all around this country once again.

Chuck Baldwin to the Rescue!

Colonial America's quest for freedom was nurtured by the patriot-preachers who collectively became known as the Black Regiment, a force sadly lacking today. By Chuck Baldwin

In the thinking and preaching of the Black Regiment, freedom and independence were precious gifts of God, not to be trampled underfoot by men; human authority was limited and subject to proper divine parameters; and the mind of man was never to be enslaved by any master, save Christ Himself.

Great article!

They are free to say anything they want, no one is stopping them. But if they do then the government won't grant them tax exemptions.

You do not need permission from government to grant you an exemption for something that is automatically exempt. It's high time Christian churches started pulling their heads out of governments ass to start asking people who their master is again. Government or God?

I say that they have every right to do that if they so choose, but I would agree that they should have to give up their tax-exempt nonprofit status if they want to do that.

You do not need permission from government to grant you an exemption for something that is automatically exempt.Except that it's not automatically exempt. One has to actively apply for non-profit exemption status and then be granted it by the IRS. It's also subject to being revoked by the IRS given certain actions.
