So wait: Romney, the supposed polished businessman, is in debt $8M to......himself. What a joke...

He basically has infinite money to spend, though, which is the important measure of how much success a campaign can have.

The point they are trying to make is really quite clear. All things considered, Ron Paul is in 3rd place for true funds raised. Period.

I wonder where the Ghoul and dead Fred would be if you subtracted all corporate/lobbyist contributions? And took out the gov matching funds as well.

That's not true, though. You mean something like "true funds on-hand" but the Romney debt is all vapor. He has $300 million cash on hand, essentially.

At roughly the same place, because corporate donations are banned, lobbyist contributions are limited in scope, and government matching funds haven't kicked in yet.

Romney will make it back in speaking fees after the election. He may put more money into the campaign.

slightly off-topic, but does anyone happen to know where Romney got his 300 million? Government jobs don't pay THAT well.

in my 20 second search, I found out he was the CEO of Bain and Company for 8 years

I'm surprised he's not worth more, honestly
